FAQ'S

Do I have to be Catholic?

No. In a Cathedral town of only 100,000 we need every good singer we can get to be able to do justice to a proper Cathedral Music Program.

Am I good enough to participate?

Everyone who wants to participate in music ministry at the Cathedral has a place waiting for them. The  requirements are that you are reliable in attendance and punctuality at rehearsals and Mass, you are willing to learn, enthusiastic to participate and you undertake an interview and free voice checkup. This will allow the DIrector to allocate people to groups in a manner that will be most beneficial to them personally and to the group as a whole. We love our volunteers - the backbone and strength of our program!  Now that we have established our way forward, we will work tirelessly to help all our singers develop their talents as we progress through this new academic year.

Who is your Music Director?

The Director of Cathedral Music Ministries is John Webber. You can learn more about John from his website zmassmusic.com.

When will Inteviews take place?

Individual meetings with the director will be scheduled at your convenience  between June 15 and August 31st for the start of the new choral season, Choral Scholar auditions are more flexible and will extend into September. This is the best time to start, but anyone can in fact, start at anytime.

When does the season commence?

The first rehearsal for the season will  be an open house  taking  place  4-14 September. The first Masses will be the weekend of September 8-9.

When does the season end?

The season finishes with the Solemnity of Corpus Christi end of May 2019.
